Theme: Japanese Summer Festival
This illustration is based on the festival activity called “Kingyo Sukui”, which is a challenge to catch a fish in the tank using a paper scooper. The truth behind this fun activity is that most fishes caught and were taken home often dies due to the lack of caring. This picture shows a girl wearing japanese traditional summer dress saving the soul of the fishes that have unfortunately died. I liked the complementary colours of orange fish against the bright blue background.
